According to statistics from the Ministry of Finance of Japan, the trade value of silk products in November was 127 million US dollars, dropping 8.84% from the previous month and 6.05% from the same period last year. Export: The amount of silk filament was 230 thousand US dollars, an increase of 0.93% month-on-month and a decrease of 40.58% YOY, with whose quantity rising 30.82% month-on-month to 2.53 tons and dropping 51.66% YOY; the amount of silk fabrics was 13.9274 million US dollars, increasing 5.22% and declining 15.55% from the previous month and year respectively; The amount of silk madeups was 1.1969 million US dollars, a month-on-month decrease of 2.82% and an increase of 3.54% YOY.

 

2. Silk products trade from January to November

From January to November, the trade value of Japanese silk was 1.637 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 15.72%. Among them, the import value was 1484 million US dollars, down 15.79% YOY; the export value was 153 million US dollars, down 15.01% YOY(the same below). Details were as follows:

 

The composition of imported products amounted to 41.4187 million US dollars of silk filament, falling 39.82%, with whose quantity falling 36.43% to 832.2 tons; silk fabrics amounted to 110 million US dollars, with a drop of 1.21%; Silk madeups amounted to 1332 million US dollars, declining 15.77%.

 

The major sources of imports were China (718 million US dollars, down 17.37% , accounting for 48.42%), Vietnam (296 million US dollars, down 21%, accounting for 19.95%), Italy (92.6235 million US dollars, down 16.44% , accounting for 6.24%), Indonesia (78.7818 million US dollars, up 0.38% , accounting for 5.31%), Cambodia (75.4302 million US dollars, up 41.6%, accounting for 5.08%). The total proportion of the 5 sources above was 85%.

 

The composition of export products amounted to 2.8646 million US dollars of silk filament, a year-on-year decrease of 5.32%, with whose quantity rising 3.34% to 33.66 tons; silk fabrics amounted to 133 million US dollars, down 18.04%; and silk madeups were 17.6155 million US dollars, an increase of 15.3%.

 

The major export markets were China (61.3355 million US dollars, down 9.42%, accounting for 39.97%), Vietnam (52.7563 million US dollars, down 20.26%, accounting for 34.38%), Hong Kong (5.0585 million US dollars, down 13.88%, accounting for 3.3%), Thailand (5.0207 million US dollars, down 23.43%, accounting for 3.27%), Taiwan (4.5514 million US dollars, down 12.61%, accounting for 2.97%). The five markets above accounted for 83.89% of the total.
